Add individual photos?
Your product seems to be nearly unique in the category, very flexible, packed with features and incredibly affordable -- not to mention your nearly instantaneous tech support!

Does the newest version allow adding individual photos to the DB rather than just folders? We would use your product for a government network, creating a single folder for each department. Individual photos would then be added at various times to the appropriate departmental folder by drag-and-drop. That possible?
Excellent, Glenn. With that feature, I think we'll be able to create a "best photos" folder for each department and make the individual photos easily available to our entire city government staff. That way if someone needs a photo of a bus for a Police Department brochure, a keyword search will reveal bus photos in the Transit or Streets department folders. I look forward to implementing the citywide photo gallery that you and I discussed sometime back.

Hi Andy,
Great to hear from you. It'd be exciting to get started on the project again. You'll find a great number of enhancements since we last communicated. Downloading the latest version is the best route of course, but you may also find it instructive to take a quick scan of release notes and screenshots at http://grrsystems.com/DBGallery/RecentUpdates.htm.
Version 3.5 has been released as planned. You may download the latest version directly here. It's the multi-user version you'd need for your environment. The special key provided last year will still work. Regarding adding individual photos there has been a short new training video (6 mins) added to the Training Videos page or see it directly here. This would be great for you to watch as it demonstrates how easy it is to now add photos to DBGallery, as well as includes a tip for ensuring photos are available to all DBGallery users across a network.

the Add Photos video was very helpful.
To download the new version, do i need to first uninstall my current version? If so, how please. I'd prefer to start with a clean slate as opposed to overwriting/updating my current version.
The key you refer to ends with "x" right??
thanks,
Andy
For a completely clean install, including removing the database and it's contents, there are two steps with your older version:
1) Choose MySql_Un-Installer from Program Files | DBGallery. This will completely remove MySql, it's database, and any photo data you'd keyed.
2) Use the Control Panel to uninstall DBGallery.
[To others reading this post: it's only pre-3.4 versions which require a separate MySql install. MySql uninstall is now an option during the DBallery uninstall."]
Then install the last version, including it's MySql. The key does end with "x" but now that I think of it that key is for a single user version and has to no client/server configuration options. I'll email you an adjustment to that key.
Great to hear you found the Add Photos video useful!
Best Regards,
Glenn

Great timing on your question. That capability didn't quite make it to the last release but will be in v3.5 being released this coming Friday, January 9th...just two days from now. Individual files can be added via drag-and-drop onto any folder existing in DBGallery. I will drop a post here with a link to the trial download after the release.
If you have additional questions regarding the product or its use in your environment please do not hesitate to drop a post here or email me directly at grogers@grrsystems.com.
