Security and Permissions:
Allows for groups of users to be assigned roles with permissions such as: Can Add or Delete Images, Can Write Data, Read-Only, Can Export, Can Administer Permissions, and several more. Permissions for each role may be set at global or folder level.
3. Web access to DBGallery: Web browser access to the DBGallery database. This first release
of web browser access will permit search and read-only access files and data. Access may be
to the internet for internal access only, on how it is configured.
4. Rename Tags: Search and tags and other appropriate data (via Logical Views).
5. Improvements for Larger Collections:
Made several improvements allowing larger image collections.
Up to 300,000 was successfully tested. The limit is estimated to be in the millions.
6. PDF Files Support: DBGallery supports viewing and tagging of Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files.
This is the product's first foray into non-image files, more to come in the next release.
7. View Sidebar: Views list added. (Circled in Red the right of the screenshot below.)
8. 3D Wall and Carousel Views added: Great alternative to the usual flat thumbnail view.
9. New Sort Options Added:
When Added to Database (helps finding photos recently added), Data Update, and File Type.
Also fixed the Last Viewed option. (Circled in red in the screenshot below.)
10. Added additional search options. (Circled in red.)
11. Raw Data Export: Export of data to a .csv or Excel files.
12. Export to PDF: Export images and their data to a PDF file.
13. Smaller but notable updates:
Numerous UI improvements.
- A case sensitive search option.
- Added warnings for when too many images would be displayed in the various views. Thresholds for warnings can be configured.
- Improved "Online File Addition" window.
- Fixed an issues where some installations did not display the Logical View's Date view didn't display correct: Switched to using the Exif "Date Time Orginal" instead of "Date Time" as the Date Taken field.
Note: This is for images added to DBGallery's database. Any already existing in the database would use the "Date Time" of when the image was added to the database. - Log file may not be written in Vista and Windows 7. It's now stored in a Temp folder, or may be specified in the local settings file.
- Fixed bug where the Viewer navigation window, or any other window, would disappear (usually caused by a screen resolution change causing the window to be to the right of the visible screen).
- Removed the Delete database option which was available when the application wasn't initialized but the database existed already.
- Fixed a crash in the View window's GPS tab when there was no internet connection.
- Misc multi-user improvements.
- Several Drag and Drop improvements.
